FINAL MASSING MODEL ON SITE

RED HOOK BOUTIQUE HOTEL

Hi everyone,

Through out the whole semester we've been researching precedents on our building typology and learning from them so we could have a more that adequate program and design. Every step was essential for the next one until we got to the presentation day with a complete product.

For this program my visual corridor which is the main focus will be used as an exhibition for the history of Red Hook. This history will be shown in ages through out the levels, being the first floor how Red Hood started and the fifth floor what is is today.

MASSING (REVISED)

For this massing I extended the floor plans to the sides and made the portion get thinner as it goes up. Allowing more space for guest rooms.

So I scaled this down a little bit more.

PROGRESS (FACADE)

This is my idea for the facade. I'm planning on applying a panel in the south face to diffuse the sunlight that goes into the guest rooms with an black-and-white image of Brooklyn perhaps by Ansel Adams.

DESIGN PROGRESS (LAYOUT)

This are just a new layout of the plans scaled down. I wonder what I should put in the visual corridor  (from the first level to fourth) since is big enough to accommodate an space through out the all its levels. Also the floor of the corridor continues to shift.
